There can be a lot of factors when calculating new car prices, the cost of financing, and the available rebates, how flexible the dealership is on price, the cost of insurance, and always the cost of gas. So here today we have the worst miles per gallon new cars for sale available on Lotpro.
First, a disclaimer. You can go to local Mercedes-Benz dealers and find a worse MPG car that we don't have on this list, true. There are certainly a Lamborghini or Maybach that could be added as well. But when new car prices exceed $100,000, the cost of a MPG or two just doesn't matter. So we have capped this list at cars under $50,000.
We've narrowed the list down to six cars you're likely to see at local car dealerships, and all are at least thankfully new cars that get over 10 MPG. No Bugatti Veyron's here. So to start at number six and getting a blistering 13 MPG city and 18 MPG highway, the Ford Expedition 4x4. Not much of a surprise for anyone that it made the list given its size, and weight.
The next car at number five of our lowest mileage new cars for sale is the Nissan Armada 4x4 at 12 city and 18 highway mileage. Again not a shock to see an overlarge SUV on the list but not great news for Nissan either, especially with the Nissan Titan 4x4 pulling up fourth at 12 city, 17 highway mileage. With Federal fuel mandates moving up towards 40 MPG having two vehicles near the bottom isn't good news for Nissan.
These next three are barely new cars over 10 MPG. The Chevrolet Express Passenger 4x4 is one of the few 4x4 vans still on the market, and while that is a big attraction for many, its mileage is not at 13 city and 17 mpg highway. Our second to last is the Land Rover LR4 which tied for a list lowest 12 mpg city. The LR4 is also the most expensive vehicle on our list of worst mileage vehicles you'll find at Local car dealerships.
Our last and worst car is about as far from 40 MPG as you can get without buying a performance luxury car like something from your local Mercedes-Benz dealers. We are speaking of the Ford Econoline Wagon, an ironic name considering at 13 MPG city and a blistering 15 MPG highway there is few things less economic to drive for fuel economy then the Econoline. That's it for now! Later we'll break down the Lotpro best mileage vehicles.
