I went to Napleton Northwestern Ford around the beginning of October. The whole reason for the visit to this dealership was to get a part replaced during the last Ford recalls. My 2001 Ford Explorer had a faulty switch that could cause a fun little fire, even with the engine off. I showed up with my letter from Ford and I was kept waiting right off the bat. So when it was my turn, they told me I had to pay 100 bucks for a deposit. When I asked what deposit, they informed me they need a deposit to make sure that my truck was under the recall. If it was, I would be refunded the amount, if not, i wouldn't get it back. I argued for about 20 mins telling them I got a letter from Ford that said my truck was part of the recall, so I'm not putting down any deposit. They finally caved, which is pretty crappy service for just getting a recalled part fixed. They took my truck and said to come back in 2 hours. I decided to get some shopping done. After 2 1/2 hours, I came back to reclaim my car. It wasn't ready, they informed me they didn't have the part and needed to order it. So I asked for my car back. Well, sir we can't, since it is unsafe to drive, legally we cant return it. I started screaming, give me my freaking truck back. Again, they told me the same thing, but this time they told me the mechanics left for the day and left my truck still apart. So I was stuck without my truck until the next day. I came back the next day, yelled at the manager about how i should get a oil change or something for free for them screwing up, which they did strangely. The truck was fixed and was ready to go. I stepped up to the counter and got my keys, and a bill! They said they had to charge me since I left my car overnight. I basically told them, I have my keys and I'm walking. If you want to try and call the cops, do it because I didn't sign any paperwork saying that I authorized my truck being held overnight. Plus this was a recall repair so sent the bill to Ford. I left and nothing happened, moral of the story is. Dont get recall work done here.
