I needed to buy a car without much warning (my old Honda died at 297,000 miles... transmission went kaput). So I visited 3 dealers in the span of a couple days looking for a good used Honda for my growing family. I ended up at Classic Honda in Round Rock.
Overall, I'd say I was satisfied with my experience. I had heard some horror stories about Classic, and it certainly was not that. Nor was it a dream come true. The selection if used Hondas was fairly good - I pretty much knew what I was looking for and they happened to have it - a newer model CRV. I insisted that was what I was after, and, as salespeople do, they don't believe you until they can show you something more expensive. So I had to check out the Element and other Accords and such. It's not such a huge bother, but I really felt pressure to not "settle" with a CRV.
But once I made it clear that I was not interested in something else, it was a fun test-drive with the salesman and he was helpful and friendly. I got a fairly good price, but probably a bit higher than if I had found the same car elsewhere.
Financing... I had that through a different company and they were unable to match it. No problem. Writing up the contract was fine too, but I wasn't told my options as far as warrantee coverage, so they signed me up for the gold-plated option - which is great, except I had to pay for it when I would have been happy with a less expensive one. I could have spoken up, I didn't, so I bear responsibility. However, I felt as if I'd been taken advantage of to a degree - as I would have had to sit around for another 1/2 hour as they re-wrote the contract. So, I'll pay an extra $20 per month for the comfort of keeping my mouth shut, I guess.
That being said - clean place, good selection, nice folks. Worth at least checking out their lot.
