Good car, questionable sales practices

This is normally a Ford dealership but I bought a used '03 Nissan Sentra there a few years ago. The price was reasonable, about what I was expecting to pay. It sounded fine under the hood and has run fairly well since. I have had a few problems with it though, which is where I ran into trouble with the dealership. They sell extended warranties and claim that they cover "bumper-to-bumper, anything that goes wrong with it besides brakes and the battery since those are normal wear items". This is what I was told and relying on that I bought the warranty, but since then anything I've requested repaired under the warranty has been exempted for a variety of reasons, usually claiming it's a wear-and-tear part (though the clutch went out in about half the time one would usually wear out), but alternatively claiming it's not covered because it's an after-market part (which I didn't even know it had on it, because I bought it used from them) and then when the engine harness broke, they only agreed to pay for a used one. It's a third-party warranty company whose product they sell, but I would expect the dealership to take responsibility itself for the quality of 3rd party products that it sells to its customers.
