The Detroit Auto Show is over, but at LotPro.com we had the chance to attend press preview days at the Chicago Auto Show this year and here is what we saw…
Chevrolet Traverse crossover

Based on the same platform as the Saturn Outlook, GMC Acadia and Buick Enclave, the Traverse has a shape that seems more flowing than its three siblings. In particular, the front visage has the Chevrolet divisional look and closely mimics that of the new Malibu.
Being last to the party has its advantages. The Traverse will come standard with a direct injection version of the 3.6 liter V-6. Horsepower is increased from 270 to 281 on the single exhaust version and from 275 to 286 on the dual exhaust version. Sure to be the sales leader of the bunch, the Traverse will be built on its own assembly line in Spring Hill, Tennessee while the other models are assembled in Lansing, Michigan.

The Traverse will be available in three trim levels: base LS, midlevel LT and, finally, LTZ, in front and all wheel drive configurations. Seating options include 3 rows with either 6 or 7 passenger capacity.

Standard safety features include front & side airbags for the first row, as well as 2 head curtain airbags that extend back to the third row. In addition, a rollover sensor will allow the bags to stay inflated longer to increase occupant safety.
Expect to see the Traverse in dealer showrooms sometime this fall.
