Ford Motor Company is no stranger when it comes to the fuel-saving techniques known as Eco-Driving. Back in the 1990s, Ford cooperated with the German Road Safety Council in introducing a training course to its customers there as well as fleet drivers.

Late last week, Kia Motors launched its all-new 2009 Forte sedan in the Korean market. This new model replaces the Cerato in the domestic market and will replace the Spectra in the U.S. market when it reaches our shores in mid 2009.

According to the most recent statistics from Experian Automotive, of the nearly 1.3 million cars and trucks that were damaged severely enough to receive a branded title, over 185,000 of these vehicles lost their damage designation when they were re-titled in another state.

In a move that was not entirely unexpected, General Motors announced today that it was offering GM employee pricing to the public on most of its vehicles. The offer begins on August 20th and extends through September 2nd.

I’ve said it before, but it still bears repeating: if you’re a car guy, there’s no better place to be than in metro Detroit. Even in a summer in which the mayor of this good city has become a political laughingstock, the real gear heads hold their heads high and cruise down Woodward just like in the 50’s and 60’s.
