The latest Chicago Auto Show may be lacking in some areas, but I can guarantee you that visitors to this annual show held in the Windy City’s McCormick Place will certainly return home knowing they had a good time.
That’s because despite the dearth of new vehicle introductions, show goers will be treated to a number of new car test tracks (Detroit had only one) plus a new addition to the Mopar display.
Chrysler’s plans for the show include a 1,015 square foot garage displaying more than 300 parts and accessories from its Mopar brand – in addition to a “Moparized” 2013 SRT Viper.
“Customization is king,” said Pietro Gorlier, President and CEO of Mopar, Chrysler Group LLC’s service, parts and customer-care brand. “At Mopar, we offer more than 500,000 quality-tested parts and accessories throughout the world. In Chicago, we want to give show-goers an idea of how they can personalize and accessorize some of our new vehicles and furnish their garage in full Mopar style.”
Inside the garage, Chrysler will also be displaying its Mopar ’13 Chrysler 300 show car in addition to what it terms “Moparabilia” that includes two NHRA 2012 championship trophies won by Pro Stock driver Allen Johnson and Funny Car racer Jack Beckman.
Outside the garage at the Fiat display, a glass wall will feature parts and accessories for the Cinquecento. Also sprinkled among the Chrysler vehicles on display will be a Moparized Chrysler Town & Country, Dodge Dart, Fiat 500, Jeep Wrangler, and Ram truck.
If you’d like to be part of the action but can’t make it to Chi Town, check out LotPro.com beginning next Thursday – we’ll be there for all the action and will be posting images to our Twitter account and Flickr sites as it happens.
