The word “hatchback” has always been a hard concept to swallow here in the U.S. and the automotive landscape here is littered with the rusted remains and shattered marketing strategies of those manufacturers that attempted to market one as a mainstream model. But with gas passing the $4 per gallon barrier and the car market in turmoil, things may be changing.
