Summary
Certain master cylinder rear seals between the hydraulic fluid and the vacuum reservoir, will not seal adequately, allowing hydraulic fluid to be drawn into the power assist vacuum reservoir.
Consequence
As the hydraulic fluid in the master cylinder reservoir decreases, the level sensor will detect the loss of fluid and illuminate the instrument panel brake warning lamp.
Remedy
Dealers will replace the brake master cylinder on all affected vehicles.
Notes
Owners who take their vehicles to an authorized dealer on an agreed upon service date and do not receive the free remedy within a reasonable time should contact Chrysler at 1-800-853-1403.
