2002 Lincoln Blackwood Review
"Lincoln's first pickup truck, due this spring, is essentially a Ford F-150 SuperCrew with front-end styling and appointments borrowed from Lincoln's Navigator. Unlike SuperCrew, Blackwood seats four instead of five or six. It comes only with a 5.4-liter V8, automatic transmission, and rear-wheel drive; no 4WD offered. Cab has four full-size front-hinged doors. Cargo box just over 5-ft long; has a solid, power-lifted front-hinged tonneau cover; and dual side-opening rear doors instead of a tailgate. Box has storage compartments and is trimmed in simulated wood. Standard features include front side airbags, traction control, 4-wheel disc brakes with ABS, and reverse sensing system that warns of objects when backing up. Cadillac is readying a Blackwood challenger based on Chevrolet's Avalanche and called Escalade EXT. We have not yet driven the Blackwood and cannot provide ratings or an evaluation. "
