Buick Rendezvous Safety Reviews - 2003

NHTSA CRASH TEST RESULTS
Frontal crash ratings Driver: No Test Passenger: No Test
Side crash ratings Driver: No Test Rear Passenger: No Test
Results based on a 35 MPH frontal crash and 38.5 MPH side crash. Results are reported in a range of one to five stars, with five stars indicating the best crash protection for vehicles within the same weight class. This test used driver and passenger belts and airbags.
NHTSA ROLLOVER RESISTANCE RATING * * *
The Rollover Resistance Rating is an estimate of your risk of rolling over if you have a single vehicle crash. It does not predict the likelihood of that crash. The Rollover Resistance Rating essentially measures vehicle characteristics of center of gravity and track width to determine how "top-heavy" a vehicle is. The more "top-heavy" the vehicle, the more likely it is to roll over. The lowest rated vehicles (1-star) are at least four times more likely to roll over than the highest rated vehicles (5-stars).

NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID 04V150
Number Of Units Affected 103,956
Summary On certain sport utility vehicles, a structural support at the latch attachment in the rear liftgate may be inadequate to retain the latch to the liftgate in certain severe vehicle crash events. If the liftgate were to open in a vehicle crash, an occupant could be ejected from the vehicle resulting in increased risk of personal injury.
Remedy Dealers will add structural reinforcements to the liftgate in the area adjoining the latch assembly. Note: This is an expansion of a previous recall (03V-211). The manufacturer has not yet provided an owner notification schedule. Owners may contact Buick at 1-866-608-8080.
