NHTSA CRASH TEST RESULTS
Frontal crash ratings Driver: * * * Passenger: * * * * *
Side crash ratings Driver: * * * * * Rear Passenger: Seat too Small
Results based on a 35 MPH frontal crash and 38.5 MPH side crash. Results are reported in a range of one to five stars, with five stars indicating the best crash protection for vehicles within the same weight class. This test used driver and passenger belts and airbags.
NHTSA ROLLOVER RESISTANCE RATING * * * *
The Rollover Resistance Rating is an estimate of your risk of rolling over if you have a single vehicle crash. It does not predict the likelihood of that crash. The Rollover Resistance Rating essentially measures vehicle characteristics of center of gravity and track width to determine how "top-heavy" a vehicle is. The more "top-heavy" the vehicle, the more likely it is to roll over. The lowest rated vehicles (1-star) are at least four times more likely to roll over than the highest rated vehicles (5-stars).

Dodge Dakota Recalls Issued - 2003

NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID 03V389
Number Of Units Affected 50,082
Summary On certain pickup trucks equipped with manual transmissions, the headlamp and dash wiring harness may be chafed by the actuation of the clutch pedal. This could result in abnormal operation of the wipers, turn signals, horn, or lighting systems. This could affect driver visibility, could prevent a driver from sounding a warning by using the horn, and, when the turn signals are inoperative, the driver cannot use them to signal intent to turn, increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy Dealers will reroute the wire harness and repair the harness if necessary. The manufacturer has reported that owner notification began on November 3, 2003. Owners may contact DaimlerChrysler at 1-800-992-1997.
Dates of Manufacture July 2000 - July 2003
