NHTSA CRASH TEST RESULTS
Frontal crash ratings Driver: * * * * * Passenger: * * * * *
Side crash ratings Driver: No Test Rear Passenger: No Test
Results based on a 35 MPH frontal crash and 38.5 MPH side crash. Results are reported in a range of one to five stars, with five stars indicating the best crash protection for vehicles within the same weight class. This test used driver and passenger belts and airbags.
NHTSA ROLLOVER RESISTANCE RATING * * * *
The Rollover Resistance Rating is an estimate of your risk of rolling over if you have a single vehicle crash. It does not predict the likelihood of that crash. The Rollover Resistance Rating essentially measures vehicle characteristics of center of gravity and track width to determine how "top-heavy" a vehicle is. The more "top-heavy" the vehicle, the more likely it is to roll over. The lowest rated vehicles (1-star) are at least four times more likely to roll over than the highest rated vehicles (5-stars).

Pontiac Vibe Recalls Issued - 2003

NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID 02V074002
Number Of Units Affected 2,701
Summary On certain passenger vehicles, it is possible for the bolts that join the rear brake and hub assembly to the rear axle carrier to be loose due to insufficient tightening during the assembly process. If the vehicle is operated in this condition, one or more of the four bolts could come loose, causing an abnormal noise from the rear axle area. In the event that all four bolts loosen completely, separation of the rear brake and hub assembly from the rear axle carrier could occur, which could lead to a loss of vehicle control.
Remedy Dealers will properly tighten the bolts. The manufacturer has reported that owner notification began March 12, 2002. Owners who do not receive the free remedy within a reasonable time should contact Pontiac at 1-800-762-2737.
Dates of Manufacture January - February 2002
