2004 Suzuki XL-7 Review
"A mild facelift, new model names, and a new 5-speed automatic transmission mark Suzuki's midsize SUV for 2004. XL-7 is basically a stretched version of Suzuki's compact Vitara, with a 12.6-inch-longer wheelbase, 22.9 inches of added length, and a larger V6. LX and uplevel EX models replace Touring and Limited. LX has manual transmission standard, while EX comes only with 5-speed automatic, which replaces last year's 4 speed and is optional for LX. XL-7 offers rear-wheel drive or 4WD that must be disengaged on dry pavement but has low-range gearing. New is a 4WD transfer case shifted by pushbuttons instead of a lever. Five-passenger seating is standard. A formerly standard 3rd-row seat for 7-passenger capacity now costs extra. All models include ABS except the 2WD LX, where it's optional. Remote keyless entry is standard. The EX 4WD has heated front seats."

| Summary | ON CERTAIN PASSENGER VEHICLES, UNDER AMBIENT TEMPERATURES BELOW -25 DEGREES CELSIUS, MOISTURE CAN FREEZE IN THE FUEL PRESSURE REGULATOR. AS A RESULT, FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE MAY INCREASE AT THE TIME OF ENGINE START UP, CAUSING FUEL LOSS AT THE FUEL PIPE/FUEL HOSE CONNECTION. |
