2005 Hyundai Tucson Review
"Hyundai unveils a second compact SUV for 2005. Tucson is slightly smaller and less-expensive than Hyundai's Santa Fe SUV, but is built on a similar car-type platform. It offers 4- or 6-cyl engines and front- or all-wheel drive. GL, GLS, and LX models are available; all have a liftgate with separate-opening glass. GLs come with a 140-hp 4-cyl with a 5-speed manual or 4-speed automatic transmission. GLSs and LXs use a 173-hp V6 and the automatic transmission. All are available with AWD that lacks low-range gearing but has a dashboard switch that locks in a 50/50 front/rear torque split. ABS, traction control, and an antiskid system are standard. So are front side airbags and head-protecting curtain side airbags. Leather upholstery and heated front seats are exclusive to LX models, where they're standard. A sunroof is available on GLS and LX."
