Results are reported in a range of one to five stars, with five stars indicating the best crash protection for vehicles within the same weight class. This test used driver and passenger belts and airbags. NHTSA ROLLOVER RESISTANCE RATING: The Rollover Resistance Rating is an estimate of your risk of rolling over if you have a single vehicle crash. It does not predict the likelihood of that crash. The Rollover Resistance Rating utilizes a "fishhook" maneuver which is a series of abrupt turns at varying speeds to see how "top-heavy" a vehicle is. The more "top-heavy" the vehicle, the more likely it is to roll over. The lowest rated vehicles (1-star) are at least four times more likely to roll over than the highest rated vehicles (5-stars). |
2005 Saab 9-5 Review
"Saab's flagship gains an available navigation system for 2005. The 9-5 offers base Linear, luxury-oriented Arc, and sporty Aero models. Arc and Aero come as sedans and station wagons, Linear is a wagon only. All have a turbocharged 2.3-liter 4-cyl engine. Linears have 185 hp, Arcs 220, Aeros 250. Aeros have a sport suspension, plus 17-inch wheels vs. the other models' 16s, though 17s are optional on Arc. Available are a 5-speed manual transmission or 5-speed automatic, which can be shifted manually via buttons on the steering-wheel spokes. Standard equipment includes ABS, antiskid/traction control, and front head-and-torso side airbags. Curtain side and rear side airbags are unavailable. All 9-5s have leather upholstery; Arc and Aero have heated front seats, which are optional on Linear. OnStar assistance and ventilated seats are available for Arc and Aero. Wagons do not offer 3rd-row seating."
