It does not predict the likelihood of that crash. The Rollover Resistance Rating utilizes a "fishhook" maneuver which is a series of abrupt turns at varying speeds to see how "top-heavy" a vehicle is. The more "top-heavy" the vehicle, the more likely it is to roll over. The lowest rated vehicles (1-star) are at least four times more likely to roll over than the highest rated vehicles (5-stars). |
2007 Chevrolet Tahoe Review
There are three very well-equipped trims for the Chevrolet Tahoe. The Chevrolet Tahoe has four doors and seats up to nine passengers. The trims that are available on the Chevrolet Tahoe include the base LS, the mid-level LT, and the luxury LTZ. The Tahoe LS 2WD comes with a 4.8L, V8, 295-hp engine and the LTZ 4WD has a 5.3L, V8, 320-hp engine. All trims have a 4-speed automatic transmission as standard.
The Chevrolet Tahoe LS comes very well equipped for the base level. The features include: driver/passenger airbags, traction/stability control, alloy wheels, CD player, hands-free telephone, keyless entry, anti-theft, remote controls, remote releases, vehicle anti-lockout, full power accessories, interval wipers, rear wiper, tinted and privacy glass, power and heated rearview mirrors, running boards, driver/passenger climate controls, rear HVAC controls, cruise, trip computer, outside temperature gauge, compass, mounted steering wheel controls, tilt steering, driver power seat, automatic headlights, daytime running lights, and delayed courtesy lights.
Not much can be added to the already loaded Tahoe LS but the Tahoe LTZ does add: fog lights, heated seats, second row power seats and sound controls, leather interior, adjustable foot pedals, passenger power seat, automatic tilt and signaling mirrors, heated washer system, remote starter, automatic climate control, and an electronic parking aid.
After all the standard features, there are upgrade options which include chrome wheels, navigation aid, DVD player, and a sunroof.
The 2007 Tahoe goes beyond the word luxury and has a starting MSRP of only $33,800.

| Summary | General Motors, LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2007-2011 Cadillac Escalade, Escalade ESV, Escalade EXT, Chevrolet Avalanche, Silverado 1500, Suburban, Tahoe, GMC Sierra 1500, Yukon, Yukon XL, and 2009-2011 Chevrolet Silverado 2500, Silverado 3500, GMC Sierra 2500 and Sierra 3500 vehicles originally sold, or ever registered, in the states of Alabama, California, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Louisiana, Mississippi, South Carolina, Texas, Puerto Rico, American Samoa, Guam, the Northern Mariana Islands (Saipan), and the U.S. Virgin Islands or "Zone A." Additionally, GM is recalling certain 2007-2008 Cadillac Escalade, Escalade ESV, Escalade EXT, Chevrolet Avalanche, Silverado 1500, Suburban, Tahoe, GMC Sierra 1500, Yukon, Yukon XL vehicles originally sold, or ever registered, in the states of Arizona, Arkansas, Delaware, District of Columbia, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Maryland, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, New Jersey, New Mexico, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Virginia, and West Virginia or "Zone B." These vehicles are equipped with non-desiccated passenger frontal inflators containing phase-stabilized ammonium nitrate (PSAN) propellant. These inflators may explode due to propellant degradation occurring after long-term exposure to high absolute humidity, high temperatures, and high temperature cycling. |
| Consequence | An inflator explosion may result in sharp metal fragments striking the driver or other occupants, resulting in serious injury or death. |
| Remedy | GM will notify owners, and dealers will replace the front passenger air bag inflator with an alternate one, free of charge. Interim letters notifying owners of the safety risk are expected to be mailed beginning March 1, 2021. Second notification letters will be mailed once the remedy is available. Frontal crash ratings: Driver: Passenger: Side crash ratings: Driver: No Test Rear Passenger: No Test Results based on a 35 MPH frontal crash and 38.5 MPH side crash. Results are reported in a range of one to five stars, with five stars indicating the best crash protection for vehicles within the same weight class. This test used driver and passenger belts and airbags. NHTSA ROLLOVER RESISTANCE RATING: The Rollover Resistance Rating is an estimate of your risk of rolling over if you have a single vehicle crash. It does not predict the likelihood of that crash. The Rollover Resistance Rating utilizes a "fishhook" maneuver which is a series of abrupt turns at varying speeds to see how "top-heavy" a vehicle is. The more "top-heavy" the vehicle, the more likely it is to roll over. The lowest rated vehicles (1-star) are at least four times more likely to roll over than the highest rated vehicles (5-stars). |
