Both trims are equipped with a standard 3.5-liter, V6, 265-horsepower engine. A 6-speed automatic transmission with overdrive is standard. The Ford Edge has a front and rear stabilizing bar and multi-link rear suspension.

The 2007 Ford Edge comes with many standard features. Instrumentation features include a compass, trip mile system, and low fuel warning. The Ford Edge has cargo tie downs for hauling and has painted alloy wheels and all season tires.

Safety features on the Ford Edge include traction control, front and rear mounted airbags, stability control, front and rear head airbags, and dusk sensing headlights. Other standard features on the Ford Edge are rear lift gate door, 6-way driver and passenger seats, heated driver and passenger seats, power windows and mirrors, cruise control, and controls for audio and cruise on steering wheel.
