The 2007 Mazda MAZDA3 is a 4-door or 5 door compact family sedan or wagon. The Mazda MAZDA3 has a total of 8 trims available. These trims are range from the entry level i sports style to the s Grand Touring style. The MAZDA3 i style has a 2.0-liter, I4, 148 horsepower engine while the MAZDA3 s Grand Touring is equipped with a 2.3-liter, I4, 156-horsepower engine. These models come with a standard 5-speed manual transmission but a 5-speed automatic engine is optional.

All of the Mazda MAZDA3 sedans come with the following: front power outlet, driver/passenger airbags, trunk anti-trap, remote tailgate and fuel door releases, alloy wheels, tire detail, stereo system with CD player, keyless entry, anti-theft devices, full power accessories, anti-lockout, selective locking and unlocking, intermittent wipers, folding power adjustable exterior mirror, tinted glass, rear defroster, air conditioning, air filter, cruise control, outside temperature gauge, steering wheel mounted controls, tilt steering, stabilizer bar, front bucket seats with manual lumbar support, halogen headlights, delayed lighting, and interior load area light.

The Mazda3 s models add electronic brake assist, leather steering wheel, and fog lights. The s Grand Touring adds rain sensing wipers, automatic climate control, trip computer, automatic headlights, and heated seats. All of the above mentioned standard options are available on the other Mazda MAZDA3 trims. Premium options include a CD changer, sunroof, satellite radio, and for the Grand Touring trim a navigational aid.

The MAZDA3 is redesigned for 2007 and has a starting price of $16,150 and extends to $19,800.

The Rollover Resistance Rating utilizes a "fishhook" maneuver which is a series of abrupt turns at varying speeds to see how "top-heavy" a vehicle is. The more "top-heavy" the vehicle, the more likely it is to roll over. The lowest rated vehicles (1-star) are at least four times more likely to roll over than the highest rated vehicles (5-stars).

Summary	THULE, INC. IS RECALLING 2,323 OWNER-INSTALLED ROOF-MOUNTED FIT KITS, MODELS 3068 AND 3069, MANUFACTURED BETWEEN JANUARY 1, 2008 AND FEBRUARY 28, 2009 THAT ARE USED WITH THULE PODIUM FOOT PACKS, MODELS 460 AND 460R. THESE FIT KITS WERE SOLD AS AFTERMARKET EQUIPMENT FOR USE ON THE VEHICLES LISTED ABOVE. THE BOLT(S) USED TO SECURE THE FOOT TO THE VEHICLE WAS MANUFACTURED TO A HARDNESS THAT MAY CAUSE THE BOLT(S) TO BE BRITTLE AND POTENTIALLY BREAK UNDER STRESS.
Consequence	THIS MAY RESULT IN THE BOLT(S) SNAPPING OFF DURING USE OR WITHOUT A LOAD. THE UNSECURED RACK AND LOAD CAN THEN COME LOOSE WHILE DRIVING CREATING A POTENTIAL ROAD HAZARD, POSSIBLY RESULTING IN A VEHICLE CRASH.
Remedy	THULE WILL MAIL A RETRO FIT KIT ALONG WITH REPAIR INSTRUCTIONS TO OWNERS FREE OF CHARGE. THE SAFETY RECALL IS EXPECTED TO BEGIN ON OR BEFORE APRIL 13, 2009. OWNERS MAY CONTACT THULE TOLL-FREE AT 1-800-238-2388.
