The 2008 Volkswagen Rabbit is a carryover family coupe or sedan from 2007. The Volkswagen Rabbit is a 2- or 4-door, 5-passenger vehicle that comes in two trims - the 2 Door S and the 4 Door S. Both Volkswagen Rabbit trims are equipped with a customary 2.5-liter, I5, 170-hp engine and a 5-speed manual transmission with overdrive. A 6-speed automatic transmission with overdrive is optional. The 2008 Volkswagen Rabbit carries a 50000mi/48 month basic warranty.

The 2008 Volkswagen Rabbit has all of the following features as standard: front and rear power outlets, safety airbags, emergency fuel shut-off, keyless entry with remote controls and releases, power accessories, tilt steering, cruise control, trip computer, outside temperature gauge, traction control, ABS brakes, steel wheels, tire detail, full-size spare tire, stereo with CD player, panic alarm, vehicle and radio anti-theft devices, anti-lockout device, folding/heated/signaling/and power adjustable exterior mirrors, tinted glass, illuminated vanity mirrors, air conditioning, multiple storage compartments, halogen headlamps, daytime running lights, and delayed courtesy lights.

The Rollover Resistance Rating utilizes a "fishhook" maneuver which is a series of abrupt turns at varying speeds to see how "top-heavy" a vehicle is. The more "top-heavy" the vehicle, the more likely it is to roll over. The lowest rated vehicles (1-star) are at least four times more likely to roll over than the highest rated vehicles (5-stars).

Summary	CERTAIN VEHICLES FAIL TO COMPLY WITH THE REQUIREMENTS OF FEDERAL MOTOR VEHICLE SAFETY STANDARD NO. 108, "LAMPS, REFLECTIVE DEVICES, AND ASSOCIATED EQUIPMENT." SOME VEHICLES MAY NOT HAVE HAD A REQUIRED CAP INSTALLED WHICH DISABLES THE HEADLIGHT HORIZONTAL AIM AND SOME VEHICLES MAY CONTAIN A CAP THAT DISABLES THE VERTICAL AIMING SCREW.
Consequence	INAPPROPRIATE, NON-STANDARD LIGHTING COULD REDUCE VISIBILITY OF VEHICLES AND INCREASE THE POTENTIAL FOR A CRASH.
Remedy	DEALERS WILL INSPECT FOR THE PRESENCE OF A CAP IN THE SOCKET OF THE LOW BEAM HORIZONTAL AIMING SCREW AND INSTALL ONE IF MISSING, AND INSPECT FOR THE PRESENCE OF A CAP IN THE SOCKET OF THE VERTICAL AIMING SCREW AND IF PRESENT, THE CAP WILL BE REMOVED.
