The 2009 BMW M3 is a carryover from 2008. The 2009 BMW M3 comes in either a 2-door or 4-door and carries up to 5 passengers. The 2009 BMW M3 comes in three trims - the Sedan, the Sports Coupe or the Sports Convertible. The 2009 BMW M3 trims have a 4.0 liter, V8, 414hp engine and a 6-speed manual transmission. A 7-speed manual transmission is optional. The BMW M3 averages 14mpg in the city and 20mpg on the highway and has a 50,000mi/48 month basic warranty.

The 2009 BMW M3 Sedan comes with all of these standard features: full power accessories, keyless entry, remote controls, safety airbags, fuel shut off, trunk anti-trap, ABS, traction/stability control, locking fuel door, anti-theft, power deck lid, power outlets, CD player, radio system display, leather steering wheel, power/heated/tilting/memory mirrors, cruise control, heated washer system, valet lockout, tilt steering, trip computer, steering wheel mounted controls, automatic headlights, tire monitor, automatic climate controls, rear HVAC controls, outside temperature gauge, driver/passenger power memory/lumbar seats and leather interior. Summary BMW IS RECALLING 2,500 MY 2008-2009 M3 PASSENGER VEHICLES WITH AN OPTIONAL DOUBLE CLUTCH TRANSMISSION. THE PROBLEM INVOLVES THE DOUBLE CLUTCH GEARBOX. IN A SITUATION OF RAPID VEHICLE DECELERATION, THE TRANSMISSION SOFTWARE MAY PERFORM A MULTISTAGE DOWNSHIFT.
Consequence IN THAT SITUATION, AT LOW VEHICLE SPEEDS, IT IS POSSIBLE FOR THE ENGINE TO STALL INCREASING THE RISK OF A CRASH.
Remedy DEALERS WILL REPROGRAM THE ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION ELECTRONIC CONTROL UNIT WITH UPDATED SOFTWARE FREE OF CHARGE. THE RECALL IS EXPECTED TO BEGIN DURING NOVEMBER 2008. OWNERS MAY CONTACT BMW AT 1-800-831-1117.
