2011 Kia Forte 5-Door Review
The new 2011 Forte 5-Door is a 4-door, 5-passenger new sedan. The 2011 Kia Forte is offered in two 2011 Kia models - the Forte 5-Door EX and the Kia Forte 5-Door SX. The 2011 Forte 5-Door EX has a 2.0-liter, I4, 156hp while the Kia Forte 5-Door SX has a 2.4-liter, I4, 173hp engine. All Forte 5-Door models have a 6-speed manual transmission as standard but an automatic transmission is optional. The 2011 Kia Forte 5- Door is a new car over 30 MPG that averages 24 MPG city and 33 MPG highway. The new 2011 Forte 5-Door carries a 60,000/60 basic warranty.
The new 2011 Kia Forte 5-Door SX comes with the following features as standard: full power accessories, ABS brakes, traction control, stability control, front power outlets, CD player, MP3 player, USB port, Bluetooth® wireless access with voice activated controls, Sirius® satellite radio, automatic halogen headlights, fog lights, rear spoiler, air conditioning, cruise control, outside temperature gauge, steering wheel mounted controls, tire pressure monitor, trip computer, leather steering wheel, keyless entry, multi-function remote fob, remote trunk and fuel door, trunk anti-trap, cloth seats, front bucket seats, tilt steering column, illuminated vanity mirrors, tinted glass, rear wiper and power/signaling exterior mirrors. *Not all above features may be standard on the 2011 Forte 5-Door EX.

| Summary | Kia America, Inc. (Kia) is recalling certain 2010-2019 Borrego, 2014-2016 Cadenza, 2010-2013 Forte, Forte Koup, Sportage, 2015-2018 K900, 2011-2015 Optima, 2011-2013 Optima Hybrid, Soul, 2012-2017 Rio, 2011-2014 Sorento, and 2010-2011 Rondo vehicles. The Hydraulic Electronic Control Unit (HECU) may experience an electrical short, which can result in an engine compartment fire while parked or driving. |
| Consequence | An engine compartment fire while parked or driving can increase the risk of injury. |
| Remedy | Owners are advised to park outside and away from structures until the recall repair is complete. Dealers will replace the HECU fuse, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed November 14, 2023. Owners may contact Kia customer service at 1-800-333-4542. Kia's number for this recall is SC284. |
