As of this writing, Volkswagen sales here in the United States are nearly as stagnant as its model lineup, yet even with the release of images of the new Scirocco yesterday, it's fairly certain that, like the Up and Polo, VW will not be importing the newest and hottest version into the U.S. despite the fact that, in addition to Europe, it will be exported to China, Argentina, Turkey, Australia, Russia and even South Korea.

For Camaro aficionados chomping at the bit, it appears as if their long wait is coming to a close as earlier today Chevrolet announced that the long-awaited 2014 Camaro Z/28 will be arriving in dealer showrooms this spring.

It may have been the last press event of a very long day, but for those who stuck around it was well worth the wait. For starters, Mazda unveiled a special edition model that was created to celebrate 25 years since the launch of the brand's iconic roadster, the Mazda MX-5.

Chevrolet has announced that it will offer Corvette customers two new design packages for the 2015 model: the Atlantic luxury convertible and the pacific performance coupe. Both packages will be available when the 2015 Corvette Stingray lineup goes on sale later this year.

The Pulsar name, for some, may cause flashbacks to the 80's-era Nissan Pulsar NX. The second-gen version could be converted from a coupe to an open-topped vehicle or hatchback by either removing the rear window/decklid or swapping the coupe's rear quarters for a larger cube-shaped module. But the newest Pulsar is hardly as adventurous as its progenitor and is, in fact, the hatchback version of the current Nissan Sentra.

Earlier this week, marked by a ceremony at the Smyrna plant, Nissan began producing the eighth-generation Maxima, which made its global debut less than three weeks earlier at the 2015 New York Auto Show.

This year's New York Auto Show will go down in the books as one of the more important ones in recent memory. By our count, eighteen production vehicles, five concept cars and a World Rallycross racer made their world debuts, while three more vehicles were seen for the first time by a North American audience. Since covering a list that long would require a bit too much time and space, we decided to pare it down to the what we think are the five most significant vehicle intros, in terms of importance to both the marketplace and their manufacturers, at this year's show.

American Honda has released pricing information as well as specifications for a new Civic trim level for the 2015 model year. Prices will start at $19,080, including destination, for a Civic Coupe LX with manual transmission - which represents a $325 price increase over the outgoing model.
