Chicago debuted the first public showing of the new Raptor fighter, and he wears a bow tie. Meet the Lingenfelter Chevrolet Reaper.

First unveiled at the National Automobile Dealers Association meeting in New Orleans, the Reaper made the trek up north to the Windy City this week for its first public showing. In short, it is everything you could hope for in a bro truck. Air haulers rejoice, you can now catch air in your pickup.

With a three-inch lift and Fox Racing performance remote reservoir shocks, the 20-inch Reaper wheels will be able to absorb as much Mother Nature as you can throw at it.

The Reaper will start with a EcoTec V8 in a 5.3 liter with 475 horsepower, or you can kick it up to the 6.2 liter V8 and watch it spin 550 hp sandy rooster tails across the desert. What more could a Chevy enthusiast want?

Well, a Chevy enthusiast might want it rolling off the line in Indiana, but while the Reaper sports a bowtie badge on the front it will be sold to local Chevy dealers across the nation by GM engine tuner Lingenfelter.

The Reaper is built on a Chevy Silverado Crew Cab with the short box by Alabama custom truck shop Southern Comfort Automotive. From there, it's turned over to Lingenfelter for it's tune up and will be shipped to Chevrolet dealerships at an estimated retail price of about mid-$50k.

That's quite a markup over the $44,415 your local Ford dealership will ask for the stock Raptor, but the 5.3 liter Reaper with 475 horses should be a step up from the 411 found in the Raptor. The issue for Reaper owners, however, will be that 6.2 liter V8 will likely push the price tag into Shelby Raptor territory.

The battle of Tuner sport truck vs Tuner sport truck could be an interesting one on some dusty back trails. And while the Reaper certainly has it's hands full if it expects to hunt the Raptor, at least Chevy enthusiast won't have to settle for sitting on the sidelines watching Ford owners catch air.
