FCA's Dodge Division will be celebrating the Snake's 25th anniversary and final year of production with 5 limited-edition models.

1998 Viper GTS-R

2017 Dodge Viper

It's been 25 years since the first 1992 model year Dodge Viper slithered out of Chrysler's Mack Assembly plant in Detroit. Four years later, production was moved to its current facility on Conner Avenue.

The first generation Viper, built in 2 phases, lasted until 2002 while the second-generation model had a shorter run, having been built, also in 2 phases, from 2003 until 2010.

2010 Snakeskin Viper

2013 marked the resurrection and third generation of the nameplate, but this generation will have the shortest run of all, as FCA plans on shutting down production following the 2017 model run. However, never let it be said that this serpent went gently into that good night, as Dodge plans on producing not one, but five 2017 Viper limited edition models to commemorate the current snake's swan song.

2010 Viper ACR

"The Dodge Viper has had a great run, and 25 years after it was first introduced, it leaves the supercar world reaching for the records it continues to set," said Tim Kuniskis, Head of Passenger Cars, Dodge, SRT, Chrysler, and Fiat – FCA, North America. "With more track records than any production car in the world, the Dodge Viper ACR will live on as the fastest street-legal Viper track car ever, the car that has set the benchmark for all that follows in its tracks."
