Pricing released for the refreshed 2014 Honda Civic Si Sedan and 2014 Honda Civic Si Coupe
2014 Civic Si
We'll start with the bad news. Honda has raised the price of both its Civic Si Coupe and Civic Si Sedan by $275. For 2014, this means the Civic Si Coupe, which went on-sale March 12th, now has a manufacturer's suggested retail price (MSRP) that begins at $23,580, including destination fees.
Meanwhile, the Civic Si Sedan, which dealers began selling last Wednesday (March 26th), now boasts an MSRP of $23,780 which also includes destination fees. But aside from the slight price increase, the rest of the news is all good as Honda has made a number of enhancements to the hottest compact it sells here in the U.S.
Exterior
Exterior changes include swapping out last year's 17-inch alloy wheels for new 18-inchers. Up front there's a more aggressive hood along with a new fascia (with new grille and lower garnish), plus new fenders, side mirrors and headlights.
In back, the taillight lenses have been changed while there's a new rear spoiler and lower air diffuser.
Interior
Inside, there's a new Si-exclusive black and red color scheme, while the audio panel is now trimmed in a carbon fiber-look material and surrounds a new standard 7-inch gesture-based Display Audio touchscreen. Also standard for 2014 is a new proximity key with push-button start, an "expanded view" driver's outside mirror and Honda's LaneWatch right-hand outside display.
Engine and chassis
Both the Civic Si's engine and chassis have also been tweaked. A retuned and less restrictive exhaust system gives the 2.4-liter i-VTEC DOHC 16-valver 4 more horsepower (205 hp @ 7000 rpm - SAE net) and an additional 4 lb.-ft. of torque (174 lb-ft of torque @ 4400 rpm - SAE net), while revisions to the suspension include higher rate springs, new dampers and a stiffer rear stabilizer bar.
Model and pricing overview
The 2014 Civic Si Coupe is available in base and Navigation (Navi) trims with either standard all-season or as an upgrade with summer tires. The 2014 Civic Si Sedan is offered in base trim with either standard all-season tires or with the summer tire upgrade, while the uplevel Navigation trim is offered only with the all-seasons.
