Although German car manufacturer Mercedes-Benz is certainly known for its lineup of luxury and ultra-luxury vehicles; like any full-line manufacturer, the three-pointed star also offers a wide range of other vehicle types including busses, trucks and vans.

In fact, last July, the company introduced the Mercedes-Benz Vans "MasterSolutions" program. Launched specifically for commercial and fleet buyers, the program was created to allow aftermarket upfitters the ability to customize options and packages for the automaker's Sprinter and Metris work vans.

The Metris ToolBox Concept was constructed by RENNtech, a Florida-based company with an established reputation, and certainly better known, for its performance modifications to Mercedes-AMG vehicles.

Mercedes-Benz calls its RENNtech ToolBox concept the "ultimate toolbox on wheels." Equipped with a tile flooring system that offers better grip for work boots, the entire assembly can easily be removed for cleaning. A clear, plastic partition separates the cockpit from the cargo area, and, like all Metris vans, it has a payload capacity of over 2,500 pounds and a towing capacity of 5,000 pounds.

The cargo area is equipped with shelves, racks and removable cases from Ranger Design and Sortimo by Knapheide.

Outside, the Mercedes ToolBox Concept features unique wheels and a bright blue and silver paint job (production vans are offered only in white) along with oversized toolbox latches and a handle on the roof, just in case show visitors weren't sure what the Showvan is designed to do.
