Non-Texans will now have a chance to get their own Stinger Yellow Ram 1500.
A Yellow Rose Ram by any other name
According to Shakespeare, "A rose by any other name would smell as sweet." So how about "stinger" instead of "rose"?
Back in March, FCA's Ram division unveiled a Yellow Rose of Texas Ram 1500 model, based on a crew cab version of the Ram 1500 Lone Star, painted in an exclusive yellow color, which will only be sold in Texas.
But there is hope yet for those Ram truck aficionados in the rest of the country inclined towards that model's retina-searing finish. We know this because yesterday the brand announced that that it will be adding yet another Ram 1500 model to its 2016 lineup. Like the Yellow Rose, this one will be based on the Sport trim and will come with a Stinger Yellow paint job.

"The Ram 1500 Sport offers unique features for customers who enjoy aggressive styling and great performance," said Mike Manley – Head of Ram Truck Brand, FCA Global. "Truck buyers are very attached to their vehicles and the Stinger Yellow Sport model adds a custom appearance to the segment's best-looking truck."
Like the Ram 1500 Yellow Rose of Texas edition, the Stinger Yellow Ram 1500 Sport will be available only as a Crew Cab, although customers can choose between either a 4x2 or a 4x4 driveline configuration. Based on the Sport trim (hence the Stinger Yellow "Sport" moniker), standard features include a 395-horsepower Hemi V-8, 8-speed automatic transmission, dual chrome-tipped exhaust outlets, a vented sport hood and 22-inch wheels (20-inchers on 4x4 models).
Inside, the all-black interior will feature light black chrome trim and yellow body-color accent stitching. Highlights include Sport embroidery on the seats, accent color Ram's head logo on the headrests and black leather seats with colored accent sport mesh on the seating inserts. The infotainment system includes the 8.4AN Uconnect system with navigation and standard rear-view camera.
2016 Ram 1500 Stinger Yellow Sport pricing and availability
Pricing for the 2016 Ram 1500 Stinger Yellow Sport will begin at $44,340 (including a $1,195 destination fee) for a 4x2 model. Ram 1500 Stinger Yellow Sport models will begin arriving in dealerships in early May with total production limited to 2,250 trucks.
