SEGA Shows Sonic Civic at Comic-Con

Newest Honda-based custom vehicle celebrates the legendary video game character, "Sonic the Hedgehog."

We guess it's best to call it a custom – rather than concept - vehicle. In any case that's what we're calling the latest Honda-based 2016 Civic Sedan creation that was commissioned by SEGA and made its debut on July 22nd at SEGA's sold-out Sonic the Hedgehog 25th Anniversary event at the House of Blues in San Diego as part of that city's annual Comic-Con soiree.

"What better way to showcase the incredibly sporty performance capability of the 10th generation Civic than by pairing it with gaming industry's ultimate athlete – Sonic the Hedgehog," said James Jenkins, Public Relations Manager for the Honda Division. "As the fan favorite game and character celebrates his 25th anniversary on the scene, we hope that all Sonic fans – those who remember playing years ago and those who continue playing today – rejoice in his all-new ride, as much as we enjoyed creating it."

Sonic the Hedgehog Civic

Starting with a 2016 Civic LX 4-door, Fox Marketing Cars, based in York, Pennsylvania, led the design and customization of the 2016 Sonic Civic that includes:

• Custom 18x8 +35 Konig Oversteer Opal wheels and Toyo Tires 215/40/18 tires representing Sonic's infamous red shoes and gold rings featured in the game.
• WP Pro Brakes 13.3" Sawblade Rotors with 6-piston calipers
• Custom exterior including a one-of-a-kind vinyl Sonic the Hedgehog design and bespoke paint scheme – a Sonic Black Grill, BASF R-M Candy Sonic Blue painted exterior with custom Sonic Yellow throughout including a Sonic Yellow Honda logo.
• 3M Cystalline 40 Window Tint
• Sonic the Hedgehog front and rear DeegeZ heated and cooled seats with Katzkin Blue Leather and custom "Sonic the Hedgehog" 25th Anniversary embroidered logos.
• Schroth Rallye Cross ASM 4-point street legal seat belts
• A K&N Intake system and cat-back Magnaflow exhaust system
• BC Suspension Coilovers with a 4.5” drop
• Custom trunk design with Rockford Fosgate audio-visual system featuring two 500-watt T1S2 10-inch subwoofers, two 500-watt TM400 400-watt amplifiers, and a floor-mounted flip-up/down 32-inch television to play classic "Sonic the Hedgehog" games.
