Subaru of America has announced model and option package pricing for the 2017 Legacy lineup.
2017 Subaru Legacy
Since the Subaru Legacy was all-new for the 2015 model year - longer, wider, roomier and slightly lower than its predecessor - not much has changed either inside or in the styling department for 2017.
But that doesn't mean Subaru hasn't made a few changes to a model in what it describes as "one of the industry’s most competitive segments." So here's how things shake out for the upcoming model year.
2017 Legacy 2.5i
2.5-liter models feature grille shutters for improved aerodynamics and come with a 2.5-liter Boxer engine making 175 horsepower mated to a standard CVT transmission with manual mode and paddle shifters. Standard equipment includes Subaru's STARLINK infotainment system that includes a 6.2" single-touch gesture display, AM/FM with HD Radio®, SiriusXM Satellite Radio (along with a 4 month free trial of audio and Travelink), single-disc CD player, Bluetooth phone connectivity and audio streaming, iPod control, iTunes Tagging, a USB port and auxiliary input jack. Smartphone integration features Aha and Pandora and STARLINK cloud applications iHeartRadio, Stitcher, Calendar, Music Player, News and Weather. The screen also acts as the display for the standard rear view camera.
2017 Legacy 2.5i Premium
Premium trim upgrades include the All-Weather Package (heated front seats, exterior mirrors and windshield wiper de-icer), dual zone automatic climate control, 10-way power driver’s seat, leather-wrapped steering wheel and shifter, an electroluminescent IP with LCD color display, auto up/down front windows and an illuminated overhead console and front door pull handles. The exterior is differentiated from the base trim with 17-in. alloys and body-color side mirrors. Premium, Sport, and Limited trims also feature a standard STARLINK 7.0" Multimedia Plus with a high-resolution 7-in. multi-touch gesture display, Bluetooth hands-free SMS text messaging and dual USB ports.
2017 Legacy 2.5i Sport
Moving up to the sport trim brings with it a two-tone interior with piano black and carbon fiber-look trim. Outside, Sport models feature 18-inch alloy wheels, dark gray front grille and fog lights with gloss black housing as well as chrome rocker trim and silver-finished turn-signal mirrors. Optional on the Legacy 2.5i Sport is Subaru's EyeSight with safety features like Blind Spot Detection & High Beam Assist as well as Reverse Automatic Braking.
2017 Legacy 2.5i Limited
Legacy Limited models add perforated leather-trimmed seating, a power moonroof package, keyless entry with push button start, heated rear seats (backs and cushions), woodgrain-pattern matte-finish interior trim, rear air conditioner outlets, 4-way power front passenger seat and a harman/kardon 575-watt sound system with 12 speakers. Exterior upgrades include 18-inch alloys, fog lights, turn-signal side mirrors and Stablex suspension tuning.
Limited models equipped with Subaru's optional EyeSight Technology also come equipped with Blind Spot Detection and High Beam Assist as well as Reverse Automatic Braking. The 7.0" Multimedia Navigation System with 3 years of free map updates is also offered. Package additions for 2017 on Limited models equipped with Eyesight include HID low beam headlights, multi-reflector halogen high beams and automatic HID low beam height adjust control.
2017 Legacy 3.6R Limited
The Legacy 3.6R model is equipped with a 256-horsepower 3.6 liter, 6-cylinder Boxer engine teamed to a high-torque CVT automatic with manual mode and paddle shifters.
