Frontal crash ratings: Driver:  Passenger: Side crash ratings: Driver: Rear Passenger: Results based on a 35 MPH frontal crash and 38.5 MPH side crash. Results are reported in a range of one to five stars, with five stars indicating the best crash protection for vehicles within the same weight class. This test used driver and passenger belts and airbags. NHTSA ROLLOVER RESISTANCE RATING: The Rollover Resistance Rating is an estimate of your risk of rolling over if you have a single vehicle crash. It does not predict the likelihood of that crash. The Rollover Resistance Rating utilizes a "fishhook" maneuver which is a series of abrupt turns at varying speeds to see how "top-heavy" a vehicle is. The more "top-heavy" the vehicle, the more likely it is to roll over. The lowest rated vehicles (1-star) are at least four times more likely to roll over than the highest rated vehicles (5-stars). |
2004 Chrysler Sebring Review
"Chrysler's midsize line consists of sedans, convertibles, and coupes. The sedan and convertible share a Chrysler platform and use Chrysler powertrains. The coupe takes its platform and powertrains from Mitsubishi's Galant and Eclipse. The convertible body style is exclusive to the Sebring line, but sedans and coupes have Dodge Stratus counterparts.
For 2004, sedans and convertibles get revised front styling; coupes continue unchanged. All Sebrings offer 4- and 6-cyl engines. Coupes offer manual or automatic transmission. Sedans and convertibles come standard with automatic; a manual had been available in the GTC convertible until midyear. Chrysler's AutoStick automatic transmission with manual shift gate is available on top-line coupes and convertibles. Also at midyear, LX and LXi model names were changed to base and Touring, respectively. Head-protecting curtain side airbags are optional on sedans. Front torso side airbags are optional for coupes. The convertible has no side airbags. ABS and traction control are standard on the Limited convertible and optional on all other Sebrings but the base coupe. "

Frontal crash ratings: Driver: Passenger: Side crash ratings: Driver: Rear Passenger: Results based on a 35 MPH frontal crash and 38.5 MPH side crash. Results are reported in a range of one to five stars, with five stars indicating the best crash protection for vehicles within the same weight class. This test used driver and passenger belts and airbags. NHTSA ROLLOVER RESISTANCE RATING: The Rollover Resistance Rating is an estimate of your risk of rolling over if you have a single vehicle crash. It does not predict the likelihood of that crash. The Rollover Resistance Rating utilizes a "fishhook" maneuver which is a series of abrupt turns at varying speeds to see how "top-heavy" a vehicle is. The more "top-heavy" the vehicle, the more likely it is to roll over. The lowest rated vehicles (1-star) are at least four times more likely to roll over than the highest rated vehicles (5-stars). |
