2007 Mercury Mountaineer Review
The Mercury Mountaineer is a mid-sized, 4-door, 5-7 passengers SUV. The Mercury Mountaineer has a total of 6 different trims that have different Luxury and Premier Styles. The different ranges of trims start at the 4.0L to the AWD 4.6L and have a mpg range from 14-21.
The Mercury Mountaineer Luxury model has a stereo system that includes an AM/FM, single CD player with MP3 playback while the Premier upgrades to a 6-disc CD player with speed sensing volume and 7 speakers total to make a superior entertainment system. The Mercury Mountaineer Luxury trim has standard 17" wheels, 10-way power driver seat, leather interior, cruise control, full power accessories, multiple airbags, dual zone climate controls, trip computer, dimming rearview mirror, anti-theft and safety devices, and multiple storage compartments. The Mercury Mountaineer Premier models add on 18" chrome wheels, power folding third row seating, leather and suede upgraded interior upholstery, heated front seats, power passenger seat, heated mirrors with approach lights, and a separate rear air conditioning and heat controls.
Luxurious upgrade options include a sunroof, navigational aid, satellite radio, rear passenger entertainment system, roof rack, power running boards, and a Class III® towing package. Seating options for the Mercury Mountaineer are turning second row seats to captain's chairs but this will drop the seating capacity down to six.
The 2007 Mercury Mountaineer is totally redesigned from the 2006 model and ranges from $27,300 to $29,600 for the Mountaineer Luxury models and $30,400 to 33,850 for the Premier models.

The Rollover Resistance Rating utilizes a "fishhook" maneuver which is a series of abrupt turns at varying speeds to see how "top-heavy" a vehicle is. The more "top-heavy" the vehicle, the more likely it is to roll over. The lowest rated vehicles (1-star) are at least four times more likely to roll over than the highest rated vehicles (5-stars). |
