Seems shoppers checking out the latest truck deals and all the specials on new cars for sale have one more thing to consider when browsing Ram trucks. With Chevy and Ford engaged in a tug of war over fuel mileage numbers, Ram has decided to go another direction and load up on content to attract buyers.
Starting with the 2012 Ram trucks, Chrysler has vastly expanded their Ram box option on new model Ram trucks. And by expand, we mean not only are they offering the built in compartment locking system on more models and more configurations, but they have greatly increased the size of the Ram box to over six feet in length. The longer configurations enable the Ram to secure larger items safely than you could even get with the older Dodge Ram models.
Older model 2011 cars under 20000 such as the Ram 1500 only had 5' 7" ram boxes, making the boxes tight fit for longer objects, the new 2012 models have 6' 4" lengths, a full nine inches more. And in order to lure more buyers to the option, Ram has dropped the price down to $1,295. While the Ram may not have the best truck mpg in its class, they are certainly adding to the options.
Still, new Ram truck buyers are likely to be torn, as special financing deals such as Ram zero percent financing are only available on the 2011 editions, which still have the smaller Ram boxes and not for any of the cars under 20000 either. Instead 2012 Ram 1500 models get a choice of $500 in rebates or 1.9% financing compared to the $3,250 or 0% financing of the old model.
All these deals still run till October 31st, so you still have time to get to any Chrysler, Dodge, or Ram dealership that sells Ram trucks. And while you may not get the best truck mpg, you can still get a free Hemi engine upgrade, some pretty big rebates, and now optional even bigger Ram boxes. If you have trouble finding a place to put your tools now, well then you probably should have bought a trailer.
