Since its introduction as a 2012 model, not much has happened to Nissan's smallest gasoline-powered sedan. The Versa received a refresh in 2015 with new front and rear fascias and an interior update with a new center stack and standard audio and Bluetooth hands-free phone controls.

2016 brought about more minor changes including body-color power outside mirrors on all trims, standard rear speakers for the entry-level S grade, a leather-wrapped steering wheel for the top trim SL and two new exterior colors – Cayenne Red and Gun Metallic.

2017 Nissan Versa prices

For 2017, Nissan continues to somewhat hold the line on pricing. The base Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) is unchanged at $11,990 (although the destination and handling fee sees a $10 increase from $825 to $835) for the Versa Sedan S model with the standard 5-speed manual transmission.

The S model with the conventional automatic transmission has been dropped for the lineup, reducing the overall model count from five to four, leaving the CVT as the only choice for those not wishing to row their own. In addition, the base price for the SV and SL trims has been increased by $50 (from $15,530 to $15,580 and from $17,090 to $17,140, respectively).
