BMW offers a unique tour of its facilities while Peugeot delivers the special edition RCZ models in style.

The continent

Here at LotPro.com we firmly believe that every automotive buff should visit Europe at least once. The continent did, after all, provide the birthplace of the modern automobile and, in addition, some of the world’s finest performance vehicles are still built there, including those from a manufacturer based in the German city of Munich.

The BMW Museum

This year, visitors to BMW’s museum, also located in Munich, will be able to book a special three-hour tour that will not only take in various BMW facilities, but also some of Munich’s most important sites.

But lest you think this is just an ordinary factory tour, think again. It seems that the BMW museum has taken upon itself to provide those visitors willing to part with a mere € 90 (roughly $122) with an experience they won’t soon forget.

According to BMW, the museum “dug deep into its automotive treasure trove” all the way back to the 1930’s to come up with suitable modes of transport that include a BMW 326 Cabriolet and 335 Cabriolet, while the fifties are represented by the “Baroque Angel” 502 Cabriolet. The sixties, meanwhile, produced just one copy of a BMW 3200 CS Cabriolet, with that model also becoming a part of this unique fleet of vehicles.

And it will be money well spent. The tour begins at the museum and proceeds past the BMW Tower to BMW Welt. Participants are then taken to the home plant that produces the 3-Series, then on to a tour of the BMW Classics vehicles collection. After a tour of Munich’s old center via the ring road, you head to BMW’s flagship showroom on Lenbachplatz.

Following a welcoming champagne reception and a viewing of the exhibits there, you are then returned to the Museum via the Olympiapark where you are presented with a gift box containing a personalized certificate of participation, a BMW Museum ticket and a Museum guide.

No ordinary delivery

Earlier this week, Peugeot announced that it had invited the owners of the 200 Limited Edition RCZ cars, that were put on sale during the Frankfurt Motor show, take delivery of their new vehicles at the Castellet circuit, where the Peugeot Sport drivers are currently training for the Le Mans 24 Hours.

In addition to taking possession of their vehicles one week before the car’s official sales launch, the new owners were handed the keys to their cars by the team drivers, themselves. In addition, the select group of owners was also to view the trials during the day, as well as that night, both from the paddocks as well as from a helicopter.

Limited Edition RCZ

Priced at €35,500 ($48,000), it took less than 48 hours to sell out the run of 200 cars by customers from 10 European countries – 26 in France, alone.

The Limited Edition RCZ features a 1.6-liter 156 hp THP 4-cylinder engine and a 6-speed manual gearbox. All Limited Edition models feature a unique pearl white paint color and carbon fiber roof and rear view mirror shells. The grill and brake calipers are finished in gloss black, while the smoked wheel arches surround 19” matte black Sortilège wheels. Directional bi-Xenon headlamps are also standard.

The interior is finished in black Nappa leather and features a 3-dimensional color navigation system, Bluetooth connectivity; front and rear parking assist and Peugeot’s emergency connect services.
