There was a Windy City unveiling of a real life custom Forza Civic Si Coupe at the Chicago Auto Show
Not just players
There is now proof that denizens of the virtual world are more than just geeks with game controllers. For proof one need look no further than the Honda display at the currently-running 2014 Chicago Auto Show.
Last Friday that proof came to light when Honda unveiled a one-of-a-kind 2014 Civic Si Coupe. Selected from a field of nearly 170 entries from the Forza Motorsport community, the winning design was created by Forza gamer Tiffany Labedz of Phoenix, Arizona.
Lest you think the results were somehow rigged, rest assured they were not. The entrants were in fact judged by more than 17,000 members of the Xbox Forza community.
The winning design was brought to life using a real 2014 Honda Civic Si Coupe and is among the first vehicles from Forza Motorsport gamers to be translated from the virtual world to reality.

"At Honda, we love meeting our customers where their passion lies, and the racing and custom car design in Forza Motorsport is definitely a passion for so many Honda and Civic enthusiasts," said Tom Peyton, assistant vice president of advertising with American Honda Motor Co., Inc. "Taking an immersive gaming experience like Forza and bringing it to life here at the Chicago Auto Show will make for an exciting exhibition and a real-life demonstration of how cars and gaming are increasingly intertwined."
The unveiling was also a means for Honda and for Turn 10 Studios, the makers of the Forza Motorsport series, to introduce a new car pack for Forza Motorsport 5 on Xbox One.
The new Honda Legends Car Pack features the redesigned 2014 Civic Si Coupe unveiled in Chicago as well as the 1984 Mugen CRX and the 1994 Prelude, all available for download and marking the second straight year the Japanese manufacturer and Forza Motorsport have teamed up to bring gamers exclusive Honda-branded content.
Those attending the Chicago Auto Show, which runs through Sunday, can also be among the first to play the new Honda Legends Car Pack for Forza Motorsport 5 at the Xbox One kiosks located inside the Honda exhibit.
