A neat small car

The 2005 Scion XA is neat small car. I have had the pleasure of driving the small used Scion because one belongs to my girlfriend.

One thing for sure, the car is great on fuel. I enjoy driving the car in the summer when my girlfriend and I take the car on weekend vacations up north. We only have to stop once for gas on the way up north and once on the way back home, for a total of two times. The XA does get great fuel economy on long distance highway driving.

Pretty spacious

This particular used Scion may look small, but actually it’s pretty spacious inside. The seats are very comfortable. I was a bit surprised when I first sat in the 2005 Scion xA. I thought I was going to be crammed in the backseat of the car, but that wasn’t the case.

I will say, though, that the used xA isn’t a car you’d want to turn into a bed. The reason I say this is that it will be a long night of twisting and turning if you ever tried doing it. But for normal driving purposes, the seats are great.

Driving an xA

Driving the 2005 Scion xA is almost like riding in a shopping cart going down a rocky slope. You feel every bump, twist, and turn in the road. Parking it, on the other hand, is a breeze because it is such a little car. But watch out for people that don’t see you because it is so small. I have experienced parking an xA when the adjoining parking spot was open.  A Ram truck just pulled in next to me like I was a fly.

The handling

My biggest dislike and even that of my girlfriend is that the car doesn’t handle well in snow or wet road conditions. I have thought to myself, on many occasions during winter driving, “oh man, I am going to die in this car!” The car slips and slides all over the road. The xA just doesn’t have the handling for winter climates. I think it may be because it is such a light car.

The fun

Don’t get me wrong, the Scion xA is a great small car, at least in the summer. It is a fun car to drive. I know I have fun scaring the heck out of my girlfriend when I am behind the wheel of her 2005 Scion xA. The xA reminds me of a clown car, and just saying that makes me laugh.
